“I think that people should audition shows because they get experience and possibly parts. Getting parts isn’t all that easy, first you either have to learn lines of a chosen character or have to act like the character. Rachel, our Director, has to decide what parts to give people.
In my past when I did Romeo and Juliet we had to learn 10 lines of Shakespeare for two characters and I get a chorus part but then a while later I got a phone call saying I got ‘Balthasar’ Romeo’s page. I learn my lines and it was really quite easy. I even had a rehearsal on my birthday ‘best birthday ever!’. The shows were put on downstairs in the Studio, it was different for a change.
For other shows like ‘Danny Champion of the World’ which was my first show I was terrified of being on stage but the first night is always scary, when it was my turn to go on stage I went on and I went from stiff and scared to relaxed. I got the hang of it. Nowadays I am only slightly nervous of going on stage”
